Fomo vs GMGN: social trading vs copy trading and bots

Fomo and GMGN compared on fees, copy trading, Telegram bots, chains and funding, from each product's own documentation, with an honest take on who each suits.

By FomoTradersUpdated Facts checked against Fomo's help center 16 October 2026

Short answer

GMGN documents a 1% fee per trade and automation: copy trading of other wallets (on Solana), sniping, auto buy and sell, and Telegram bots. Fomo charges 0.50% (0.45% with a referral code), has native mobile apps and card funding, and is built around a social feed where you see trades and theses but place every trade yourself. Pick GMGN for automation; Fomo for lower fees and simpler, social trading.

FomoTraders earns a referral reward from Fomo, so weigh this accordingly. GMGN facts come from GMGN’s own documentation, checked on 16 October 2026. Some of GMGN’s pages note they were last updated a year or more ago, so check the live product too.

What the fees mean in dollars

On an illustrative $1,000 trade: GMGN’s documented 1% fee is $10.00. Fomo’s standard 0.50% is $5.00, or $4.50 with a referral code. GMGN users also choose priority and tip fees; on Solana, Fomo covers network costs, while on its other chains you pay network fees.

GMGN’s own copy-trading page warns that frequent copy trades can eat through your balance in priority fees. That’s worth factoring in if you plan to automate.

Copy trading vs following

This is the biggest difference. GMGN can automatically mirror another wallet: when it buys or sells, your copy task does too, within limits you set. Fomo deliberately doesn’t do that. Following a trader on Fomo puts their trades and theses in your feed and can notify you, but you decide each trade.

Automation suits traders who want speed and are comfortable with the risks of mirroring someone else’s trades, including fees, slippage and bad fills. Fomo’s approach suits people who want context, including the trader’s written reasoning, before acting.

Where Fomo is stronger

  • Half the headline fee, less with a referral code.
  • Native mobile apps and card or Apple Pay funding in supported countries.
  • Seven chains from one balance, with Solana network costs covered.
  • Human context. Theses, a leaderboard by actual profit, and a feed of every trade.
  • Simpler setup. Apple or Google sign-in, no seed phrase, exportable keys.

Where GMGN is stronger

  • Automation. Copy trading, sniping, limit orders and trailing take profit and stop loss.
  • Telegram-native trading across several chains.
  • Deep wallet analytics, including smart-money tracking, insider and sniper data, and security checks on contracts.
  • Execution settings such as anti-MEV modes and custom RPC.

Which should you choose?

Choose GMGN if you want bots, automated copy trading or Telegram-based trading, and you’re comfortable managing fees and settings.

Choose Fomo if you want lower standard fees, a clean phone app, easy funding, and a social feed that shows you what people trade and why, without automating anything.
